Let it snow. Let it snow. Let it finally snow.
I remember tromping through the snow in my Halloween costume. Far from the case nowadays in Yakima.
The lack of snowfall does make life (and travel) a little easier, but for the kids’ sake I wish we’d see a little more of it.
Yesterday as I was driving down Chestnut Ave en route to Franklin hill, I (slowly) followed a group of kids bundled from head to toe while carrying their sleds. They were so excited they could barely contain themselves – bouncing from one side of the road to the other. It may have been one of the longest drives I’ve ever taken on Chestnut, but it was well-worth the reminders of childhood.
After I snapped some shots, I quickly rushed to pick my son up from childcare so he could join in the fun. Last year, at the age of two, he wasn’t a big fan of sledding. This year was a whole new ballgame (which led to a tantrum when it was time to go indoors).
And the first words out of his mouth this morning, “mom, I want to go sledding!”
